JACKSON, Miss. — The man accused of killing his stepdaughter and shooting his wife in the stomach will remain behind bars without bond.
David Horton appeared before a judge in Jackson Monday on murder and aggravated assault charges. A detective testified that officers found him standing over Kristian Williams, 19, and her mom Davietta Horton when they got to the family’s home March 15. He also said there is surveillance video of Horton shooting Davietta.
Horton has an extensive criminal record, and has been arrested five times on domestic violence charges since 1997. His case will now be presented to a grand jury.
