AMITE COUNTY, Miss. – An off-duty state trooper has died in a single car accident in Amite County.
A spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Trooper Charles Powell’s truck ran off the road and flipped around 11:30 Thursday night. Powell was taken to a McComb hospital, where he later died.
The accident remains under investigation.
