After a massive outage across Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms that lasted for most of Tuesday morning, the social media sites have announced to be back in order.
Meta announced at 11:36 a.m. CT that it had recovered from the outage that impacted thousands, if not millions, of users nationwide. At its peak, nearly 520,000 users had reported issues with Facebook. Instagram also experienced issues with its feed refreshing.
During the downtime, many users went to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the issues with Meta apps. Elon Musk and others even joked the platform recently taken over by the EV mogul was superior as Meta shares fell.
