VICKSBURG, Miss. – Ex Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield is scheduled to be sentenced today in a federal bribery case.
He admitted back in September to asking for $10,000 in exchange for a city contract. Winfield faces up to 10 years in prison, but his lawyer has asked the judge to consider other options, like house arrest or probation.
Winfield served one term as mayor and lost his bid for reelection.
