If you’re into unique automobiles and motorcycles, or just want an interesting way to spend the weekend in central Mississippi, look no further than the Renaissance Euro Fest.
An array of European car and motorcycle makers will be represented in Ridgeland this Friday and Saturday, with limited edition Italian cars and bikes such as Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini headlining the annual show.
“[The Italian cars and motorcycles] always draw big crowds because most of them are limited production cars,” Mike Marsh, founder and director of the Euro Fest told The Gallo Radio Show. “People have heard them, but they’ve never seen one before.”
A rare four-door Ferrari SUV – the first of its kind to be owned in Mississippi – will be one of the premiere motor vehicles displayed at the show. Euro Fest is free to the public, with kids, dogs, and everyone who wants to experience an uncommon collection of automobiles from across the pond.
“You can talk to the owners and a lot of them will let you sit in their car and take pictures with the kids,” Marsh said. “We’ll have a great barbecue truck out there. It’s just a great way to relax on a Saturday in Ridgeland.”
Marsh went on to share a little inside info with those wanting to get up close and personal with the exotic cars. While the show officially starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, visitors can show up a little early once the cars are lined up at 9 a.m. to interact with the owners and their vehicles before the exhibition begins.
Plenty of other car clubs will be at the Renaissance showing off their European vehicles. And while it’s not an officially judged competition, awards such as Best in Class will be given to the machines that stand out the most.
More than 50 of the cars will kick off the weekend on Friday at 3 p.m. for the Renaissance Road Rally, where exhibitors will ride from Ridgeland to Livingston and back. Learn more about the show here.
