MAXMixology is an opportunity to enjoy cocktails while hearing stories about Mississippi’s most creative. Recently, the Eudora Welty Cocktail Hour drew a crowd at The Max. Welty’s niece, Mary Alice White, engaged the group with stories of her aunt, and Cathead Distillery’s T. Francis created a Welty-inspired flight of cocktails.

Eudora Welty’s Mother’s Eggnog (Attributed to Charles Dickens)
6 egg yolks, well beaten
Add 3 tbsp. powdered sugar
Add 1 cup whiskey, added slowly, beating all the while
Fold in 1 pint whipped cream
Whip 6 whipped egg whites and add to the mixture above.
