Escaped Hinds County Inmate Caught; One Still on the Run

JACKSON, Miss.- The third of four escaped inmates from the Hinds County jail in downtown Jackson has been caught and placed back in custody.

The Clarion Ledger reports Hinds County deputies and U.S. Marshals arrested the 17-year-old at a Jackson motel Sunday. The room was registered under the teen’s father, who has also been arrested.

Two other inmates, both 16, were caught Friday. They were found at a home in South Jackson.

Police are still looking for another 17-year-old.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis says the inmates climbed out of windows on one of the top floors and used tied together blankets to climb down and escape.

Lewis says the inmates were able to remove a bar from a window that was already broken.
