Epps, McCrory Sentencing Delayed

JACKSON, Miss. – Former Mississippi Corrections Commissioner Chris Epps was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday on corruption charges in Jackson federal court, but that has now changed.
“His name is no longer on the schedule,” says a spokesperson for Judge Wingate.
Epps was indicted in November on 49 counts of accepting bribes and kickbacks from Rankin County Cecil McCrory. Nearly three months later he took a plea deal and admitted to two counts of corruption.

Epps resigned as Corrections Commissioner following his arrest.  He had held the position since 2002.
