Now that the 165th Mississippi State Fair has officially wrapped up, officials are turning their attention to the highly-anticipated 2025 Dixie National Rodeo.
The 60th annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo is scheduled to run from February 7-9 and 12-16 at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson.
Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson announced that the following artists will be taking the main stage:
- Sam Barber — A 21-year-old from Missouri, Barber brings a folk and rock vibe to his tunes. He is best known for his songs “Straight and Narrow” and “Drowning.”
- George Birge — After hitting the music scene as one half of the duo Waterloo Revival, Birge decided to go solo and has since produced popular songs “Mind On You” and “Whiskey Go ‘Round.”
- Lorrie Morgan — Bringing an old-school country music feeling back to Mississippi will be Lorrie Morgan, who charted her first singles “Two People in Love” and “Tell Me I’m Only Dreaming” in 1979 at age 13.
- Clay Walker — Another artist looking to bring yesterday to the present will be Walker with his chart-topping hits from the 1990s, “What’s It To You” and “Live Until I Die.”
- Zach Top — One of country music’s fastest-rising stars, largely for his music’s tastes of tradition, Top’s catchy hit “Sounds Like the Radio” on his most recent album “Cold Beer and Country Music” has made him a fan favorite at concert stages across the U.S.
- Ella Langley — Another young artist taking the stage, Langely is a 25-year-old from Alabama whose songs “That’s Why We Fight” and “Paint the Town Blue” have become admired in Nashville.
- Gretchen Wilson — The “Redneck Woman” herself, Wilson will be bringing her popular anthem to Mississippi’s capital along with other hits including “Here for the Party” and “Work Hard, Play Harder.”
Tickets to the concerts will be available for purchase beginning Thursday, October 24.
In addition, for the first time, the Dixie National Rodeo is adding a high school rodeo event on Sunday, February 16. Mississippi high school rodeo contestants will get to compete in the same arena as professional world champions and earn points toward the rodeo nationals. This rodeo is one of only 10 high school rodeos that count for points to get to nationals.
“We’re excited for this great entertainment lineup, the annual livestock shows, and the addition of the high school rodeo,” Gipson said. “We’re taking the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo to the next level, and I encourage the public to get their tickets in advance.”
