Tax season is almost upon us and Entergy Mississippi has announced plans to help its customers fill out the pesky paperwork required annually by the Internal Revenue Service.
This February, the utility company will hold Super Tax Day events throughout its service area. Qualified Entergy customers can walk in and receive assistance from IRS-certified volunteers who will help folks file their taxes.
Entergy Mississippi customers will have access to essential information about tax credits and deductions they might qualify for, including the federal Earned Income Tax Credit. In 2024, Entergy helped low-income customers receive $55 million in federal tax returns across the company’s service area.
This year, Entergy’s trained tax volunteers will continue to assist customers in determining their eligibility for this and other credits, helping to maximize their potential refunds.

“We recognize that tax filing season can be a difficult period for many of our customers, and we are committed to ensuring they have the resources and support necessary to navigate this process with ease,” Robbie Kemp, Entergy Mississippi vice president of customer service, said. “By providing these free services, we aim not only to assist our customers but also to give back to the communities we serve.”
Participants will also learn about the Kids to College program, which offers a free child savings account funded by Entergy. Families that enroll their child in this program will receive a $50 contribution from Entergy, along with a match for savings in the account up to $300 this year.
Customers unable to attend an event in their area can still receive free, in-person tax preparation services by scheduling an appointment at one of the Entergy-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites through April 15.
