Jackson, Miss.- The Jackson Zoo received a $5,000 donation from Entergy to pay for the cost of admission and transportation to the zoo for students through the Wild Learning Program.
The Entergy Charitable Foundation’s goal is to support initiatives that help create and sustain thriving communities.
Jackson Zoo’s Director of Major Gifts and Annual Funds, Josh Friedel, worked with Valarie Mabry, Entergy’s Public Affairs Specialist, to make this grant happen.
“Entergy is a great supporter of the Jackson Zoo’s educational programs and this grant will go toward underwriting the cost of admission and transportation for children who otherwise wouldn’t be able to come to the Jackson Zoo due to financial limitations,” Friedel said.
The Wild Learning Program is an educational program that offers opportunities to low income households and diverse ethnicities that do not have the means to visit the zoo.
“Excited to once again have Entergy as a partner in our Wild Learning Program, their support of non-profits is so important and we are proud to be one of the many they support,” said Zoo Director, Beth Poff.
