PURVIS, Miss. — The life of an elderly woman was claimed in an unforgiving fire in Purvis. Police tell WHTL they believe the fire was started by 36-year-old Timothy Taylor. He is now facing charges of arson and homicide.
The fire started Monday night around 9:30. When firefighters worked to control the blaze some of their oxygen tanks exploded. Everything was finally under control around 11 p.m.
Taylor had his initial court appearance Tuesday and was denied bond. The name of the victim is still not being released.
