An elderly man in Oxford has been charged with first-degree murder.
According to the Oxford Police Department, officers responded Tuesday morning to a report of someone being shot in the 200 block of Herman Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead after life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
Herman Slack, 89, was arrested and charged in connection with the investigation.

OPD noted that the investigation is still ongoing and further details could be released at a later date. The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
