JACKSON, MISS– Joint legislative committees for Education and Appropriations will hear recommendations on how to change the Mississippi Adequate Education Program formula.
The MAEP formula that is currently in place determines how public schools in the state are funded. That formula is 20 years old.
EdBuild, a non-profit from New Jersey, was tasked with studying the current formula, what could be changed, and making suggestions on what could be updated.
The joint committee meeting is open to the public and will take place today at the Capitol at 2pm in room 216.
News Mississippi will be there and will keep you updated.
