A Durant man faces up to two decades in prison for robbing a local bank.
On Thursday, 21-year-old Curtis Lee Williams pleaded guilty to robbing the BankPlus branch in Durant on July 7, 2022. During the robbery, Williams was wearing all black, sunglasses, a wig, and no shoes.
Later that day, one of the $50 bait bills from the bank was used to purchase three firearms from a pawn shop in Kosciusko. Officers took the suspect into custody after a subsequent traffic stop.

Williams was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 4 and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 29, 2024. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Durant Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly T. Purdie is prosecuting the case.
