JACKSON, Miss.- Duck hunting season officially began Thanksgiving day in Mississippi and will last until Jan. 25.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said there should be plenty of ducks to hunt this year.
“Breeding duck populations were at record levels in 2014, so we were once again offered liberal season frameworks, which include a 60-day duck season with a six bird daily bag limit,” said James Callicutt, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Waterfowl Program Biologist.
You must register, have a hunting license and the department’s duck stamp to be eligible to hunt.
