JACKSON, Miss.- This week marks the 19th anniversary of Drive Safely Work Week.
Sponsored by the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety, they are taking a week to emphasis precautions that drivers can take while on the road. It is dedicated to improving the safety and health of employees and their families, primarily in preventing traffic crashes.
This years campaign is called #PlanAhead: Your Key to Driving Safely and emphasizes the necessity in planning even the most routine trips.
When driving to and from work it can often be so routine that it becomes mundane. In these moments drivers become unfocused which is dangerous to all on the roads. Designated for October 5-9 there are few things motorists can do to prevent reckless driving during this week and all year round.
-Remember to take time to plan your route, even those that are routine.
– Prepare for issues on the road that may take you into areas you don’t know.
-Take precautions to ensure you’re driving with a clear mind.
-Make sure you have enough fuel before you start a trip
-Use a traffic monitor before you leave your house for anything you may run into.
