SOUTHAVEN, Miss– Tanger Outlets broke ground in Southaven Friday morning.
Or as some would joke, broke mud. The outdoor event was moved into tents because of the rain. But it didn’t dampen the spirit of the event.
“It is a beautiful day!” said Tanger Outlet CEO Steve Tanger. The crowd joined in on the laughter, but for them it was truly a beautiful day in Southaven, despite the rain.
“The Tanger Outlet Mall in Southaven will be an attractor for our region,” says CEO of Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau Kevin Caine, “as we make this a great destination.”
The outlet mall will be completed by the end of the year. The mall is bringing 75 stores, 1000 jobs and a big boost in the local economy.
“We look forward to being a vital part of the growth of this dynamic and thriving community,” says Tanger.
Ann Taylor, Gap, J.Crew, Banana Republic and Pandora are just a few of the 75 stores announced Friday.
