JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi summers can get pretty hot, but a place where the heat really turns up is the inside of your car. Remember to be safe and never leave your kids or pets out in the heat even without the windows down.
Even on cooler days, where it is around 70 degrees, temperatures inside the car can get 30 to 40 degrees warmer. When temperatures reach 104 degrees people can start to develop a heat stroke, and keep in mind, a child’s body temperature rises faster than an adult’s.
Remember if you see a child left in a car, call 911. If they are distressed, get them out as quickly as possible.
