The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is reminding people that the disaster recovery center in Jackson County is closed for the Labor Day holiday.
The center, which is located at 4400 Denny Street in Moss Point, will reopen to those impacted by two tornadoes in June on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 8 a.m.
Services offered at the center include:

- MEMA representatives can answer questions about unmet needs and potential state and local resources. They may make referrals to nonprofit organizations.
- Disaster loan specialists from the Small Business Administration can explain how loans can help both homeowners and businesses. They also can provide details about loan terms.
- Hazard Mitigation Community Education and Outreach specialists will talk with homeowners, renters, and businesses about techniques to make them and their property more resilient.
MEMA is also reminding people that the disaster recovery center in Jasper County closed permanently on Saturday.
