A Mississippi Gulf Coast man will spend 10 years in prison for an international cyber sex crime scandal involving a minor.
Court documents reveal that 54-year-old Jeffery Steward, also known as Jack Spangle, transferred links to pornographic material to the social media account of a 16-year-old in the Philippines. Steward is reported to have known that the person receiving the graphic materials was underage.
Following his decade-long sentence, Steward will serve three years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Cyber Crime Division at the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and the Philippine National Police. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Andrea Jones and Lee Smith are prosecuting the case.
