An educator in DeSoto County is now behind bars for alleged child sex crimes.
According to a release from the Southaven Police Department, law enforcement received a complaint against a teacher at DeSoto Central Middle School. Authorities discovered that the teacher, identified as Stephen Tyler Hart, was making inappropriate comments toward a student.
Hart, who is listed as an assistant band director at the school, was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with two counts of child exploitation.
No bond information has been announced. Police are still assessing the situation.
