Hunting season is around the corner and the deer will be moving soon. This is good news for hunters and bad news for motorists.
Chad Dacus with Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks says, “If you’re driving down the road and you’ve seen a deer in a certain location they’re probably going to be there again.” he also says if you see one deer expect there to be more and slow down.
Dacus says the fall time of year is when you see the most movement, specifically through the months of November, December and January is where there will be a peak. Deer usually move through the early mornings and late evenings.
If you are part of the unfortunate many that do have a wreck, contact authorities and your insurance company to make a claim. Law enforcement will handle the scene.
