An elderly Mississippi Vietnam War veteran man is accused of killing his neighbor.
Corinth police charged 77-year-old Robert Allen with the murder of his neighbor, 74-year-old William Martin Lewis. Authorities say the veteran took Lewis’s life Thursday on South Tate Street, then fled the scene in a pickup truck.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol stopped him a short time later in Union County.
Allen received a $250,000 bond. A June 12 preliminary hearing has been set for the accused murderer.
Officers have yet to release a motive for the murder.
Allen served in the Vietnam War and is a recipient of four Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart medal.
