CANTON, Miss.–Decapitation by machete sounds like a death that would be dolled out by one of the Mexican drug cartels. It happened in Canton, though, and neighbors are saying it was an argument over property at the West Side Trailer Park.
News Mississippi affiliate WMGO reporter Jerry Lousteau said the body was discovered Friday afternoon and the head was more than 90 percent gone.
“Residents were shocked,” he said. “Alfonso Rosas was found lying in an overgrown area.” Rosas was 43. His neighbor, Eugenio Isadora Nolasco, was charged with murder.
Lousteau said it was a combination between a property dispute and a domestic issue, according to neighbors and from the early stages of the investigation.
