With training school scheduled to begin in January, there are just seven days left to apply to become a Mississippi State Trooper.
“Anybody interested in becoming a state trooper, they have until October 14 to put their application in,” Commissioner of Public Safety Sean Tindell said. “It really is a great career full of opportunities to serve your state. It’s truly a brotherhood, and I’ve been proud to work with these men and women at the Mississippi Highway Patrol and our other law enforcement divisions and doing our part to make our state safer.”
Back in July, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) raised the annual salary for state troopers from $39,140 to $50,000.
Training school for the MHP usually lasts around 18 weeks. Applications to become a member of Cadet Class 67 can be submitted here.
