The National Weather Service is warning Mississippians of a dangerous heat wave that could be hitting the state this weekend.
According to NWS Jackson, heat indices west of Interstate 55 and south of Interstate 20 are expected to hover around 105 degrees on Saturday but could reach 110 degrees on Sunday and Monday.

Dangerous heat is likely particularly along and west of I-55 as well as south of I-20. Heat indices greater than 105 degrees are expected and could peak up to 110 degrees. Make sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if working outdoors.
