MADISON COUNTY, Miss. — A new charge was filed Wednesday against the man at the center of the Cochran picture controversy.
Clayton Kelly is now accused of taking a picture of a person without permission. Madison County’s district attorney says the wife of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran was in her nursing home room at the time the picture was taken, a place where she fully expected privacy. The crime if a felony and if convicted, Kelly could get up to 5 years in prison. He is already facing a charge of exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Kelly is being held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
