CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss.- A man’s truck collided with a train on Wednesday at the Hartley Lane Crossing in Crystal Springs.
He is recovering in the hospital. Residents say this is not the first time someone was hurt at the crossing. There have been five deaths at that same spot and they want something done to avoid another one.
MDOT says that that crossing does not meat the qualifications to receive extra funding that would provide crossing arms. Currently there are lights and a stop sign to warn drivers of an oncoming train.
The issue was last brought up in 2010 after the death of Alonzo Milton of Canton. He died while crossing the tracks.
