If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the Magnolia State has you covered.
The weekend before Halloween and of course, the spirit of spookiness is taking the state by storm.
In Tupelo this weekend it’s a tour of the Lyric Theater.
“There will be fifteen different haunts, an autopsy room, a Confederate surgical tent with a gruesome surgery scene, clowns, spiders, and a room with creepy kids,” says Tom Booth, executive director of the theater. This one isn’t recommended for kids under 10. Check out the website for more information.
Then head to Vicksburg for the stage production of ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ at the Strand Theater.
“It’s the same as the movie, just live,” says Director Jack Burns, “the people heckle us and we encourage it. They throw things at the appropriate time, and the inappropriate time. It’s a wild ride but a lot of fun!” The website has more details, but no one under 17 allowed into the show.
And then in Hattiesburg it’s Eaglepalooza after the game. It’s a block party for all of the Hub City, with Icona Pop headlining the concert portion of the event.
“There will be vendors, the stage, food,” says Gavin Snyder, Event Coordinator, “just head to the USM game at 2:30pm and then head downtown after that. It’s free for everyone!” Eaglepalooza is sponsored by the Student Government Association and the University of Southern Mississippi.
