Mississippians are in for a “Family Tradition” this summer with Hank Williams, Jr. making his way to the Brandon Amphitheater.
On Friday, June 6, Bocephus himself will take the main stage at the outdoor central Mississippi entertainment venue. The Grammy Award winner, Country Music Hall of Famer, and son of the legendary Hank Williams is best known for Southern rock hits like “Country Boy Can Survive,” “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound,” and “Dinosaur.”
A Shreveport, La. native, Williams followed in his father’s footsteps in becoming a musician. He made his recording debut with “Long Gone Lonesome Blues,” one of his father’s hits, in 1964. Williams later changed his style and embraced more of a rock and outlaw country persona, and from there, his career took off as he became one of the hottest artists in country music.
Joining Williams on stage will be Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, a California-based rock and country group best known for the songs “It’s Morning” and “Fishin’ in the Dark.”
Tickets to the concert will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here.
