NEW YORK – The FBI has warned state officials to beef up their election security after hackers breached similar systems in two states.
The two states attacked have not been released by the FBI, but earlier this summer election websites in Illinois and Arizona had to be shut down after their voter registration records were attacked.
Federal officials are said to be more concerned about the possibility of hacking this presidential election, following the cyber attacks of the Democratic National Committee. Those hacks revealed favoritism towards Hillary Clinton over her then opponent Bernie Sanders. The DNC is supposed to be neutral.
