CORINTH, Miss.- Corinth will be the next Mississippi city to receive fiber to some of their homes. Fiber is C Spire’s new internet service that is faster than anything anyone has access to in Mississippi right now.
Telecommunications firm C Spire said Corinth has received the needed sign-ups to begin building one gigabit service to one of its eligible neighborhoods.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported that Corinth on Tuesday became the fourth city to qualify for the high-speed broadband service, super HDTV and home phone service. Quitman, Ridgeland and Starkville qualified earlier this year for C Spire’s service, which offers Internet speeds 100 times faster than its competitors.
The engineering and construction phase will begin in 2015.
