Hundreds of new jobs are coming to North Mississippi.
Corelle Brands LLC, a leading American manufacturer and marketer of houseware brands such as Pyrex, Snapware and Corelle, announced their intention to move a portion of its manufacturing and distribution operations to Marshall County.
The move will result in a $27.7 million corporate investment, the construction of a new facility, and it will create approximately 400 jobs by the end of June 2020.
In the announcement, Governor Bryant stated that the region’s workforce and location will ensure the continued success of the company.
“Corelle Brands is widely recognized for its iconic brands and quality housewares. The region’s productive workforce, coupled with North Mississippi’s prime logistical location, will ensure the products made in Marshall County continue the company’s tradition of excellence and are delivered quickly and efficiently to Corelle Brands’ customers,” Gov. Phil Bryant said.
Corelle Brands will open the facility in the Gateway Global Logistics Center inside the Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park. The company will lease an approximately 786,000-square-foot facility that is being constructed by Panattoni Development Company.
“We appreciate the support of the Mississippi Development Authority and Marshall County. Their partnership with Corelle Brands was a key factor in our decision to locate this facility in Mississippi, a move that will improve our operational efficiency and customer service capabilities,” said Corelle Brands, LLC President and CEO Kenneth G. Wilkes. “We look forward to providing great job opportunities in Marshall County.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for equipment relocation and installation, infrastructure improvements and workforce training. Marshall County is providing grant assistance and qualifying local property tax exemptions in support of the project. The Tennessee Valley Authority is assisting with the project, as well.
“Corelle Brands will bring hundreds of new jobs to Marshall County as a result of the teamwork and leadership of our government and economic development partners who remain committed to bringing private capital investment creating exciting career opportunities for the people of North Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director, Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We salute the Marshall County Board of Supervisors and the Marshall County Industrial Development Authority, who, along with the MDA team, worked together to bring this industry-leading company to our great state.”
This announcement came shortly after Entergy Nuclear announced the creation of over 300 Mississippi jobs.
