Cooler Temps Gone, Mississippi “Flirting” With 90s Again; Cooler Weather Not Too Far Off, Though

JACKSON, Miss.–If you liked how it felt outside Saturday, then weather that suits you might be ahead in a couple of weeks. For now, Mississippi is back into the 90s.

This week’s forecast is looking a bit warmer than the weekend. In north Mississippi, mid to upper 80s will rule. Central it’s right at 90, and it’ll be just a tad warmer south and on the coast.

“It’s kind of typical for this time of year. We’re gonna rebound,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Chad Entremont. “It doesn’t look like any of the area will get really warm. Most locations will be flirting with 90.”

Entremont said, though, that the typical weather pattern will likely prevail and cooler temps are expected by the end of the month, and especially by fair time, which is the first week of October.

“Usually we start seeing the fronts that make it feel like fall really make a good push through the area for that last week of September or that first week of October.”

He said there’s not any specific front they’re looking for right now, but if it’s a typical year, it should start to feel like fall in a couple of weeks.
