WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Gregg Harper has been selected by Speaker Paul Ryan to chair the Committee on House Administration.
Congressman Harper tweeted about the appointment Thursday night.

House Administration manages the daily operations that keep the House of Representatives, as well as setting budget authorizations and expenses for the Members of Congress. The committee also oversees House officers, including the administrative and technical functions.
In addition, The Committee oversees the management of the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution (including the National Zoo), Chief Administrative Officer, Clerk of the House, Sergeant at Arms, House Inspector General, United States Capitol Police, Government Publishing Office, Architect of the Capitol, and the Office of Congressional Accessibility Services.
The Committee also hold jurisdiction over federal elections, snf is required to consider proposals to amend federal election law and to monitor congressional elections across the United States.
Congressman Harper was first elected to Congress in November of 2008 to represent Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, which stretches from Wilkinson County in southwest Mississippi to Oktibbeha County and includes the northeast corner of Jackson and the I-20 corridor into east central Mississippi.
