JACKSON, Miss.–Rain and possibly a few thunderstorms are moving this way and some parts of the state will likely gets some heavy rain Friday as a disturbance moves across the state. You can look for rain to start today north and central.
“We’ve got a weak disturbance coming through for today. The heavier rain will probably start later tonight, prior to dawn in the southwest, then spread across the region through Friday,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark McAllister.
And when the heavier rain hits, it could be substantial.
“Rainfall amounts around 2 to 4 inches, maybe some locally heavier amounts,” he said.
McAllister expects the heaviest rain to be south of Hwy. 84.
As for any serious storms, McAllister said he also expects that to be south of Hwy. 84.
