A Columbus man has been taken into custody for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.
28-year-old Ontario Nicholson is accused of assaulting the unidentified female at a residence on Cox Loop in Starkville before forcing her to leave with him. The incident was discovered after a family member called 911 in Lowndes County.
Columbus police received the initial call and stopped the vehicle driven by Nicholson at a local gas station. He was apprehended at the scene.
Nicholson had been out on bond for simple assault, residential burglary, and simple domestic violence arrests that occurred in May 2022 — all involving the same victim.
He faces additional charges of kidnapping and simple domestic violence in the most recent detainment.
