A Mississippi man is in the hospital after a Columbus love triangle resulted in gunshots being fired.
Police Chief Joseph Daughtry confirms that 23-year-old Quindarious Robertson showed up at a home on 10th Street North to locate his wife.
After discovering that the spouse was in the residence with the male homeowner, Robertson attempted to force his way inside and was shot by the homeowner.
Robertson was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported at the scene. The shooter was not arrested by officers because the husband had technically trespassed onto the property.
According to Daughtry, no charges have been filed at this time. The law enforcement leader believes the homeowner will likely be protected by Mississippi’s castle-protection laws which allow individuals to protect themselves if they suspect danger in their houses.
The Columbus Police Department will present the case to the grand jury for further consideration.
