JACKSON, Miss.- The Cochran campaign held there “Day Before Election Day Rally” in Jackson Monday at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum.
Senator Thad Cochran had the support of Gov. Phil Bryant, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, Rep. Gregg Harper, Sec. of State Delbert Hosemann, Sen. Lydia Chassanoil, and Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney at the rally.
Governor Phil Bryant said, “Now, people want to say he’s been doing it too long. Cochran’s doing a great job, but he’s been doing it too long. That’s sort of like saying, we want to cut Peyton Manning because he’s been playing football too long, ya know he’s getting old, he ain’t what he used to be. Well, I tell you what, there’s a lot of teams that would like to have Peyton Manning and a there’s a lot of states that would like to have Thad Cochran as United States Senator!”
Senator Cochran said during his speech, “President Obama has taken us down some wrong paths, but starting tomorrow we can get America on the right path and that starts with repealing Obamacare!”
Cochran says with the Republican majority he wants to stop wasteful spending, make sure our men and women in uniform have our full support, that veterans are never forgotten and to make sure Mississippi has a voice to bring more economic opportunity and growth to our state.
Cochran said, “I ask you to keep working one more day in this campaign so we will be successful. I have always tried to do what is best for our state. I want to keep working and fighting for Mississippi. I want to keep representing our conservative values. I have always tried to make you proud and with your help tomorrow I will continue standing up for you in the United States Senate.”
Election day is Tuesday, June 3. Polls are open from 7 a.m. -7 p.m. You must have a valid form of identification in order to vote.
