Nearly 2,000 cases of Coca-Cola products have been pulled from the shelves in Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
Confirmed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the contaminated beverages run the risk of having “potential foreign material.” According to Coca-Cola Bottling UNITED, the recalled products in Mississippi were only sold in Gulfport and Ocean Springs.
“Coca-Cola Bottling UNITED voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of Fanta Orange, Sprite, and Diet Coke in a total of 48 stores in the following markets: Valparaiso, FL; Robertsdale and Mobile, AL; Gulfport and Ocean Springs, MS. No impacted product remains in the market, and all recall activities in those markets are complete,” a statement from the company reads.
Of the 12-pack cases recalled, 1,557 were Sprite, 417 were Diet Coke, and 14 were Fanta Orange. The cases’ “best by” dates were Jan. 29, 2024, for Diet Coke and July 29, 2024, for Sprite and Fanta Orange.
The FDA is encouraging anyone who owns drinks with those expiration dates to avoid consuming and throw away immediately.
