JACKSON, Miss.–What you’re paying for gas today is pretty close t the $3 mark in a lot of places. Then again, places like Amory still haven’t gotten the news that gas is going down. The Soco station there has the state’s most expensive gas a $3.59, according to gasbuddy.com.
The state average was $3.04 and that’s down about four cents from this time last week.
The prediction by Don Redmon, AAA spokesperson, last month was that gas prices could get to below $3 on average by the end of the year. The reason: low demand and a stout supply.
The cheapest gas today is in Southaven at $2.85.
Mississippi was far below the national average of $3.23.
