TUPELO, Miss.-A Civil War marker is to be unveiled on Friday in Tupelo.
This will be the second marker on the Civil War Heritage Trail that the Tupelo Convention and Visitors’s Bureau has placed.
“This will be identifying the Battle of King’s Creek that took place in our area,” said TCVB Executive Director Neal McCoy.
The Heritage Trail will mark Chickasaw, Civil Rights, and Civil War areas of history.
“And its a way for us to mark and interpret significant moments that happened in our past,” McCoy said.
The unveiling wil be at 10 a.m. at the Tupelo Creative Common on Friday.
