CANTON, Miss.–Canton was undoubtedly the biggest draw for out of state crowds Thursday with the Flea MArket. But Thursday night as the vendors were packing up and getting ready to pull out, a man and a woman were both shot and taken to the hospital. One of the victims died.
The shooting happened near Nichols Middle School, which is not near the Flea Market area.
Madison County deputies and Canton Police are looking for whoever pulled the trigger.
Dead is 22-year-old Demario Thomas.
Assistant Police Chief Juan Cloy told media that it started with an argument and a man pulled the gun and shot both victims. The woman was still in the hospital, but it was unclear how she was doing.
