COLLINS, Miss.- The Freedom of Religion Foundation is asking the City of Collins to take down Christmas Decorations at the city park.
The non-profit organization says that the decorations are offensive to non-Christians. They believe there needs to be a separation of church and state and that a government organization should not be promoting one religion over another. They have written a letter to the city requesting the decorations be taken down immediately.
The display has been up for about 15 years and stays up year round. The city will hold a meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. in order to discuss the issue and decide a course of action.
