According to the Jackson Police Department an 8-year-old pedestrian was struck by a truck on Thursday night.
The accident happened near Cooper Road and Beatrice Drive.
After authorities arrived the child was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition but is suffering from a broken arm and several scrapes and bruises.
The driver was detained and questioned before being released.
