Rankin County authorities reported that a child was found unresponsive in the a swimming pool on Old Place Road near the city of Florence.
Rankin County Deputies, Florence Fire Department and Pafford Ambulance Service responded to the scene around 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1st. Before first responders got there the mother pulled the child rom the pool and a deputy soon began CPR.
Once Fire officials and Pafford arrived they took over the resuscitation efforts and the child was take to Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson.
The child was two years old and is listed in critical condition.
