HAZLEHURST, Miss.–The entire state was put on alert Thursday night when a car was stolen with a baby inside in Hazlehurst. That car was found abandoned with three-month-old Austin Luke Buckner inside.
The car was stolen about 9:15 p.m., said the Miss. Bureau of investigation. Witnesses saw the vehicle headed down Monticello St.
About 12:30 an Amber Alert was issued. It didn’t take too long after that before the car was found just a short distance from where it was stolen. Police said the baby was still inside the car.
The baby is okay. The MBI did not say whether the person who stole the car had been caught.
