LAUDERDALE COUNTY – Miss. Authorities found a one-year-old boy drowned in a lake near his home in Lauderdale County.
A mother laid down to take a nap with her child and when she woke up he was nowhere to be found. She searched for him briefly before calling 911.
County Coroner Clayton Cobler said when deputies arrived they found him in the water. EMS took the child to the hospital but were not able to revive him.
The death has been ruled an accident and funeral arrangements are being made by Wright Funeral Home.
The boy would have been two in November.
