A 15-month-old child is dead after a car accident in Columbus.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant has confirmed that 15-month-old Colton Hertrick died as the result of a car accident that occurred on Monday morning at the family’s home on Fox Run Curve.
While no details regarding the specifics of the crash have been announced, Merchant stated that two other children and the child’s mother were at the home at the time. The child’s father was at work at the Columbus Air Force base.
After the crash, the base posted the following message to their Facebook page.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
